In 2016, 50Hertz moved into the new Netzquartier building near Berlin Central Station. The company has launched a special exhibition of at its existing headquarters to showcase the new locations and the changes that come with the move. 50Hertz chose to use digital media for this project. The central element of the exhibition is a digital signage application on a 55” multi-touch screen.
We have imitated surface materials such as wood and integrated them into the interface design to match the environment of the exhibition.
The application was developed with the open-source framework Drupal. It is based on a backbone technology that meets all project requirements. We used a content management system to manage and update the multimedia content.
On the user side, the application is highly sensitive to touch and responds extremely powerfully. An interface to the company intranet allows employees to get involved. Additional interfaces to social services such as Qype turn the future headquarters into a tangible experience.
